Luxury Leather brand Berluti and Oliver Peoples have collaborated to create a capsule collection of exclusive eyewear.
The partnership with Berluti was a natural fit. Like Berluti ready-to-wear and leather goods, Oliver Peoples sunglasses are imbued with a distinctive aesthetic and culture. Both houses share a love of heritage, authenticity and craft – not to mention a complete obsession with detail. Building on our common values and aesthetics, the collaboration comprises three masculine sunglass designs, as well as a limited edition style that truly embodies the knowhow of both brands.
The three new sunglass designs feature intricate detailing inspired by Berluti signature elements. The rich, tonal patina of Berluti emblematic Venezia leather – St Emillion, Indigo Denim, Tobacco Bis, Nero Grigio and Nero Verde – are color-matched in custom-created, subtle patterned acetates. Leather is finely outlined in antiqued or brushed metal on a specially-designed end piece plaque, the shape inspired by the Un Jour bag details.
Named for the streets in Paris and London where Berluti boutiques are located, the three sunglass styles are complemented by a Limited Edition leather-front sunglass offering a well-rounded collaboration. Rue Marbeuf, inspired by Andy Warhol, is a rounded shape with a defined top line perfectly pairs the quintessential vintage aesthetic of Oliver Peoples and the rich materials and color palette of Berluti. Rue de Sèvres is a distinctive sunglass with an oversized yet tailored front with thin, streamlined lightweight temples. Conduit Street is a classic pilot shape detailed with refined elements emphasizing a contrast of materials. The Berluti man loves to push classic codes yet wear his own style statement, so Berluti and Oliver Peoples created an iconic design in a special Limited Edition: Sheldrake Leather, which is embellished with a thinly layered leather front created using an exclusive new technique.
